Introduction to Pickelball

If you have ever considered trying the fastest growing sport in the country, now is your opportunity to learn the game of pickleball, get great exercise, and have lots of fun!  A six session program to learn the basics of pickleball will begin on Monday, October 16. Each of the six sessions will begin with instruction and skill development and end with playing an actual game. We will meet Monday and Wednesday mornings from 8:15-9:00 at the VCC gym.  Equipment will be provided.
Six sessions will be offered and you must complete five of the sessions before you will be able to join in on the regular indoor pickleball play for the Indoor Season.  
Pickleball is a racquet sport that is great for all ages.  It combines elements of badminton, tennis, and ping pong.  The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court.  The net if similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower.  The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer wiffle ball.  The result is a fast-paced game for players of all skill levels.  Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the world.
The cost is $10 for the program.

Mary Mills has been instrumental in growing the sport of Pickleball in Ely. She has taught, encouraged and inspired lots of people to play this great sport. Mary’s goal is for Pickleball players to have lots of fun and get great exercise. She will help you learn the sport and she enjoys welcoming new players no matter what your level of play.
